Tomorrow is gonna be a big day! Mum is taking me to the registration place so I can, you know, FINALLY get my learners license, and then I have an appointment at 2:20pm at lenscrafters or w/e to get glasses! I’m gonna get glasses.. Glasses.

The truth is that the age restriction is completely arbitrary, tied only to our puritanical comfort levels. And listen, I get it; I think it’s fair to say that most people are uncomfortable with the idea of a 14 year old having sex. But here’s the thing - access to Plan B isn’t about keeping a 14 year old from having sex - by the time she gets to the pharmacy, that ship has sailed - it’s about keeping a 14 year old who has already had sex from getting pregnant. And despite what urban legend (or past embarrassing FDA memos) may tell you, making emergency contraception more available is not more likely to make young teens have sex - it will just make them less likely to end up pregnant.

We can’t let our discomfort with teen sex trump young people’s right to sexual and reproductive health and we can’t continue to let politics trump science. If we care about young women’s health and bodily autonomy and integrity, we’ll drop all age restrictions from emergency contraception. Anything less isn’t just illogical - it’s immoral.

Terry had to work at 8 this morning so I got home at like 7:30 after going to the train station with him

and I stayed up till like 9 and then passed out >< Which is probably for the best, or I wouldn’t be able to stay awake during work, which starts in 50 mins. So I should probably go have a shower.

wow SUM UP OF MY LIFE OVER THE PAST FEW DAYS

THIS IS LONG SO TL;DR: drunk mother kicked me out and I stayed with Terry for 4 nights it was gr8 and now I’m back and things are probably gonna go to shit again pretty quick but this will not be a post full of complaints so don’t worry

thursday night was awful but honestly it was just the usual “you don’t give a shit about your dead grandfather” shit and “you don’t do anything” and “you can’t do anything” and “get out” and “I shouldn’t even be in alberta” and “go live with your dad” and “I don’t care if you sleep in the park all night” and

so I left and met up with Terry at the train station and talked with Brenna on the phone the whoooole way there

and Terry took me out to coach and bought us two pitchers of rolling rock and we both had chicken wings and basically we were both tipsy and couldn’t finish the last pitcher because we had to drink fast

even Terry was tipsy enough that when we were walking home he was just like “let’s go fight shit!” and giggling god he’s so cute

so Friday morning I walk with him to the station and he goes to work. I went to Sobeys to grab snacks and pop and some lunch for myself because it’s like 5 mins from the station, and it’s kinda starting to sprinkle but I”m like nahhh it won’t be too bad

halfway back to his house and it is literally pouring buckets of rain omg I was drenched. Thankfully I only passed two ladies (“If it makes you feel better, that was me yesterday!” and “Great day for an afternoon walk, huh?” respectfully)

so yeah I dried off and put on Terry’s clothes and played New Leaf for literally 9 hours until he got off work and then we walked to the bank and went back to his house aaaaand watched Burn Notice before I passed out on his bed

saturday we went to Canadian Tire and Shoe Warehouse and all these places and I bought some converse that aren’t high tops so I can wear shoes with shorts that don’t dig into my heels, and Terry got some sandpaper for his knives and a brand new phone because his wasn’t connecting to the computer so we hung around future shop until they were just like “Yeah take a new one”

a house basically behind Terry’s had a shitload of cops around it when we were on our way back… three cop cars, three cop SUV’s, and two motorbikes, and they were in front and in the alley and one dude was circling the block. It was sorta weird, but I still have no clue what it was about.

Tara, Cooper, Gareth, Dave, Carissa, Terry, and I all went to the farmers market saturday afternoon (Carissa is Dave’s new girlfriend and she’s a ~gamer girl~ just like me and seems super familiar but idk she seems nice enough and they held hands the WHOLE TIME in the car while he was driving which was pretty adorable) and we got poutine and listened to music and stuff

then we went to Humpty’s that night because it was the grand re-opening and it’s really nice in there now!! It was just a few of us but Moogs eventually showed up and we ran into our waitress Pat so it’ll be really nice to see her again this friday

and Terry and I went searching for metal skewers so we could have a campfire with hot dog and we literally went to sobeys, superstore, and safeway and none of those places had ANY and I was too tired so we didn’t do a campfire that night anyway

sunday we did the usual OMD, DnD, and Magic which was great and I was supposed to take my dad out for dinner that night but he cancelled on me so I went home with Terry and had chinese food with him and the fam and watched the Soup

I was gonna go home that night but we ended up making a campfire and I stayed because I couldn’t help it. For a while it was Terry’s dad, Mara, Terry, and I out at the campfire and we made s’mores and actually threw a bunch of marshmallows around (a few of which landed in neighbor’s yards hahahaha oops) and then Dave came out with some beer so then it was Dave, Terry, and I and then Moogs showed up and then we all went to Dave’s room and played a game of magic which was actually evenly matched for once

Terry said he’d walk with me to work in the morning so I stayed over that night and we woke up at 6am and he walked with me to work at 7am and watched two eps of Breaking Bad with me before heading home

and then omg yesterday at work was soooo dead

and today I did nothing besides play New Leaf and I hung out with dad for a bit, he opted for mcdonalds as a father’s day treat so… alrighty, and we played some beatles rockband in the basement and caught up and it was great because I missed him

mum was drunk again this night so imma go ahead and assume she’s been drinking this whole weekend but like an hour ago she was actually staggering around the house like slamming shit and she yelled a few things like “Fuck you!” and I heard a few vague sentences like “your dad is right” and “okay, sure, whatever” and crap like that which I’m positive was directed at me but I just sat down here and ignored it since she didn’t actually call my name or anything and she’s drunk and I DO NOT WANT A REPEAT OF THURSDAY

like fucking enough of that shit

but anyway okay the weekend with Terry was so ridiculously nice. He’s so good to me and he was super nice and understanding and fun and we always have so many laughs and it was just really great, it was like a vacation. I forgot all about the stress my mum gave me. We were sitting by the campfire alone at one point when he’d just made it and he was holding my hand with both of his hands and giving me kisses and stuff and I was just in such bliss like all I could think was that I could live with that for the rest of my life, like, I wanna have a lot more campfires like that

and I guess I got my wish because we’re having one tonight! He should be texting me soon letting me know that he’s off work and on the train and then I’m gonna go meet him and we’re gonna have hot dogs and sit around the fire for a bit which is gonna be really nice. I just hope he doesn’t have to stay at work too late. :<

SUM UP my mother is a dumb alcoholic and my dad is cool and my boyfriend is the greatest thing ever and I’m just kinda cruising along for now but things are gonna be picking up pretty quick and all I know is that it’s a good fucking thing I have Terry because it would be too much to handle and too horrible not to have a place to escape to when things go south
